Roach Roundup

Roach Roundup is my first “Game-in-a-month” project, wherein I challenged myself to complete a game within a single month. This may seem like a long time, but at the moment I have very little in the way of free time, and finding even a few hours every few days was often next to impossible.

But, I did manage to get it about 95% complete in the allotted month. I spent an extra evening about a week later polishing off a few of the things that I didn’t get around to, such as a game over screen, background music, and some updated graphics.

The gameplay is fairly simple. Just click the lights to turn them on and off. Roaches will always run away from the lights that are on, unless they are under a couch, in which case they will ignore the lights since they are in a dark area. Rugs are of the thick oriental variety, and impassable to roaches. A stage is cleared when all roaches have been led into the trap.

The music in the background was written by Royal Sefton, from the Bound Together remix project. I couldn’t find anything about the artist online besides his name, so if you know him, please give me a heads up so I can thank him for writing such a great track.
